Courtney Hession has been with Masquer for almost one year. She has been featured in Love to tell the Story (2005), and One Voice (2006).

She will soon be seen in the 2006 summer tour of Traveling Light.

MM: Courtney, what is your earliest theatre memory?

Courtney: A children's musical where I was the "valley-girl-weather-girl". Very fun...first time I wore high heels...first monologue.

MM: What is your favourite passage of scripture?

Courtney: Psalm 37.

MM: How about your most memorable theatre moment?

Courtney: In the show Love to Tell the Story I played a character who becomes a Christian during the show. In the last song I was down center stage singing about loving God, and looked out in to the audience to my unsaved daddy who was bawling.

MM: What is/was your favourite subject in school?

Courtney: English.

MM: What would we find in your refrigerator?

Courtney: Strawberries, leftover pizza, soda, and milk.

MM: Do you have any pre-show traditions?

Courtney: I pray.

MM: What are some differences between regular, & ministry theatre?

Courtney: I've never been in regular theatre, but I can imagine the frustrations of working with unbelievers.

MM: What are you currently reading?

Courtney: A Lesson Before Dying.

MM: When you're not at Masquer, what would we find you doing?

Courtney: Praying, homework, or drumming.

MM: What's your favourite Masquer memory?

Courtney: Standing on Will in the lighting booth.

MM: What has been the most challenging aspect of this ministry?

Courtney: Improving week to week, and making sure I don't forget anything.

MM: How is it working with such a diverse group of people?

Courtney: Very fun. I learn so much, and I love all of these awesome people!

MM: Who is the toughest audience?

Courtney: Unsaved people who don't care, and give me no energy to feed off of. It feels almost pointless if they don't care. But God does use every little bit to plant seeds.

MM: Who would you choose to play you in the production of your life?

Courtney: Laci Patterson because she is so full of life, talanted, blonde, and she knows me!

MM: What must you have with you in rehearsal?

Courtney: A pencil with an eraser.

MM: What is your favorite quote?

Courtney: "I can do all things though Christ who strengthens me"...that includes being nice to my little sister.

MM: What is the 1st question you ask yourself before approaching a role?

Courtney: Who is this person?

MM: What is your greatest indulgence?

Courtney: Strawberries!

MM: Who is on the guest list of your perfect dinner party?

Courtney: Me, Leyna, Cindi, Christina, Jenn, Peter, Ian, Will, John, and Chris.

MM: What do you want us to know about you?

Courtney: I love Jesus, I have been a Christian for two years and it is the best choice of my life. I have been in band for 5 years. I am percussionist. I am an animal lover. I have two cats. I live with my mom, dad, and little sister. I have been in Masquer for a little less then a year, and I love it. My best friend is Leyna. You all can pray for my unsaved parents. I came to Christ because of my cousins Patrick and Dieise. I love them they're now my spiritual parents! I'm starting my own life group soon, so pray for that, please.
